BEHIND THE SCENES

THE SEARCH FOR EARTH

It really has been 10 years since I recorded my first song. 15 since I wrote my first rap. Thank you for joining me on this journey, I really appreciate your company.

[Side Note: If you click on any of the pictures it will redirect you to the song on YouTube]

This song definitely has legs. Let’s see if it grows wings.

I love this beat - the song wrote itself to it. The perfect circle thing is dumb, I know - but the inspiration is even dumber. There is a scene in a Seinfeld episode where Seinfeld draws a perfect triangle and he is so proud of it he shows it to Elaine, expecting her to be impressed. She, of course, rolls her eyes and says stop wasting my time. Kramer walks in, looks at it, and gives Seinfeld major props. I don’t know why, but I’ve always found that hilarious. Long live Isosceles Kramer.

This is my first fully instrumental song that I produced! I had a lot of fun making it and it is a nice calm break for your ears before you get into the second half of the album! Me and Terion (@sheisterion) had a great time recording the “vocals”.

I love origin stories. On my previous albums I usually dedicate a solid portion to these kinds of stories, but since this album was a closed concept, I had to figure out a way to finagle one in. Seriously though, can you believe the gall of requiring participants to sign a waiver? You mean I shouldn’t hold you liable for the very service that you are providing? You have one job - make sure the rope doesn’t snap; why would you have a waiver stating it ain’t your fault if it does? smh.

This beat murders. I had a great time writing this song. There was actually a fourth verse between the first and second but I cut it because…well the song itself asks if there is too much of a good thing, right? I figured it was appropriate to condense the message to, yaknow, only 6 minutes. I didn’t know what the alien’s soundscape should sound like so I went with a mosh pit vibe, lol.

For the record, I am not suicidal - I just had a wack day and was venting. This was the beat I made while bliiiiiiiiiiiiiitzed that night. I woke up, pressed play, and knew - yeah I’m spilling my guts to this. It is weird where your imagination can take you if you let it. I hope I didn’t ruin pull up bars for you.

I love making up stories. But I’m fairly certain that monkey definitely existed. I feel bad for him - he’s the only one who thinks that the circus monkeys caught a break.

Also, notice the easter eggs that the graphic artist (@Luketns) hid in these pictures. I did not tell him to do this, he took it upon himself to make the visuals add to the story. Dude is one of a kind and hella creative.

I always wanted to talk about introversion, although I think it may be strange if I ever performed this song live…right? On the other hand, anyone who’s in the crowd that relates would get hyped - finally a song about going home being played in public!

This is my personal favorite song. I really did make this beat at 3 AM on New Years Day, 2020. I pressed play the next morning like GOD DAMN! lol. I knew it would be the beat to the last song of whatever album I make this year. I can’t wait to show you what I made on New Years of 2021!

SEARCHING FOR EARTHLINGs EP

The underlying idea of this album was to make it a time capsule, the insanity of Summer, 2020 - I swear the aliens could have shown up and it wouldn’t have surprised any of us. That beat switches into something dirty, don’t it?

This was the first song I wrote for the album. Pretty straight forward bit, I’m not into politics like that but the parallels wrote themselves. My personal favorite vocal was yelling “SCUTTLER!!”. That, and slut shaming a ladybug.

And yes, I am aware that Yahoo News disabled their comment section. Honestly, that was such a fun place - it was truly a cesspool. I have screenshots of my favorite rants/replies and I plan on doing a song about that comment section. Shoutout to Nate, the guy who would always copy/paste Nazi literature every chance he got. That’s you in the picture, bud lol.

I always wondered how we would look to aliens…Someone said I was fatshaming humans. For the record, I would cover for us. If they catch us the way we are now, I would tell them we are in our "bulk phase”, We’ll be cutting starting next week.

POST NOW

I always wanted to make a song for atheists. The hook is an MLK quote - who is actually quoting Saint Augustine.

I like the Egyptian vibe that the beat gives, don’t you?

This is definitely my favorite chorus.

This song is based on my real life struggle. I put all the frustration I feel every morning and night into this song. If you have contact lenses, I am sure you relate.

My shaggy dog story!

Everything I said on this song is true. I even included actual recordings of me sleep talking in between the verses.

As much as I want to hate the State Fair…I do want to try that donut burger.

loll I don’t know if that really looks like me but my graphic designer did the best he could trying to imagine me with a turban and beard.

I produced the first segment of the beat and my friend Dennis produced the second segment. Special thanks to him for helping make this project all it could be!

haha, no comment.

ON EARTH

I know, it’s a goofy song. My favorite part is when people come up to me and say, “you know velocaraptors don’t have neck frills, right? You must have watched Jurassic Park”. To that I say, “Fair enough”.

Seriously, how the hell did we dye fire?

How many people went bald at this meeting, just from the sheer stress? I honestly do not see how we agreed on the order of the alphabet. Maybe people were less petty back then. They say a picture is worth a thousand words so…perhaps we took a step backwards. hmmm

The first half is based off of logic - the psilocin is destroyed upon exposure to heat and these mushrooms are found in cow dung.

The second half is made up - but the story is based off of Mayan texts that describe the priests giving the peasants mushrooms as a religious ritual; some would die and those who died were said to have been sinners. I found it curious that the priests, scribes and kings never died - and we know this because the ritual was continued generation after generation. I suspect foul play.

Jim was the plumber in my apartment. This song is dedicated to him.

You think I’m playing about the hazmat suit part, I’m really not. We are digging our own grave. Seriously, have we learned nothing from cholera?!?! It’s going to be a painful lesson to relearn.

I love seeing the reaction on people’s faces when I introduce the premise. One line in and people are already gasping. Well if we continue to pollute our planet we’ll all find it hard to breathe. Just saying.

Ever since I wrote and performed this song in public I have been seeing a million and one articles about all of the near misses Earth is having with asteroids.

[Side note: why did it take me a whole month to notice my undershirt is showing…lol smh damn]

This is the first song I wrote. That’s a nice baseline, ain’t it?
